Valley View Community Food Bank is asking the community to help by making a cash donation to ensure that anyone in our community who needs a meal can get one. “The summers bring a lot of people and families to the food bank desperately looking for food” explains Jesse Ramirez, President and Founder. “With donations dramatically down, we need the public to help us not only meet the growing demand but to help keep our doors open.” When asked how summers affect the food bank; Mr. Ramirez said, “Summer brings higher electricity bills, higher food costs, higher gas prices and higher babysitting costs. This all affects low income families for the rest of the year, and unfortunately this is the time when we at the food bank get the least amount of donations or support. Without money donations we're limited on the amount of food we can get and we won’t have the funds to run this facility. Saying we are worried and stressed is an understatement.”
Jesse also explained, “we need wonderful supporters to answer our urgent call, if we don't have enough cash donations soon we could face the real possibility of losing our lease.” The food bank offers several ways you can give a donation including online by clicking here , by dropping off cash or a check at the food bank location: 10615 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351 from 9am until 3pm Monday through Saturday or by calling (623) 933-3358. All funds will be allocated for food purchasing and towards the operations and running of the food bank facility.
