This week the food bank's 20ft open trailer was lost to theft. At the time the trailer was being used to collect fruits from around the valley for our annual Gleaning season. It allowed us to collect fruit from around the valley that would otherwise go to waste, and instead used to provide healthy donations to those that come to the food bank looking for food assistance.
This is a devastating loss and we are saddened by this thoughtless act. We are forced to use a smaller trailer that is causing us to pick up less donations, use more gas to travel back and forth and not allowing us to schedule more pickups.
We're reaching out the the community to ask for donations to help us raise money to buy another one or we're asking for an in-kind donation of a similar trailer. With funds already being stretched, this is an expense we don't have the funds for and your help is greatly appreciated.
Please consider an online donation or call (623) 933-3358 and ask for Jesse. Thank you for all your support.
